FARNAZ RABIEIJAH

Farnaz Rabieijah was born in 1981 in Tehran. She grew up in a half-artistic, half-scientific family, a fact that explains how she has been academically trained as a biologist (Botanist), while attending various art courses under leading Iranian contemporary artists, including Parviz Tanavoli, Abbas Kiarostami, Maryam Salour and Arab’ali Sherveh. This extensive training gradually allowed her to skillfully tackle various media, including metal (bronze, iron and brass,), ceramics, fabric, and fiberglass.

Since 2009, her work has been featured in group exhibitions in Iran, UK, Dubai and NY, as well as solo shows in Tehran and Dubai. On 2012 her work was shortlisted for the Magic of Persia Capital Prize.

The core of her work is an exploration of the biology of nature: organic shapes captured on materials (for sculpture) and ink and paper.
